Sensory Fun for Preschoolers: Make Your Own Silly Putty

This is a great way to explore textures – have the kids find textures to imprint and watch them disappear, or to bounce and watch the balls melt. Silly putty is great fun!
What you need:
- 1/4 cup warm water
- 1/2 teaspoon Borax
— dissolve the Borax into the water, set aside.
- 1/4 cup cornstarch
- 2-3 ounces of white glue (roughly half a 4 ounce container)
- Food Coloring (liquid kind)

Mix thoroughly. It will seem clumpy and stringy, but mix for several minuets and it will gain a putty consistency.
This makes 2 small baby food jars worth. To store, dip the goop in water and place in airtight jar. Do not eat. This is “non-toxic” but it is not “good” for you either. Make sure that the kids are past the “put everything in their mouths” phase before they play with silly putty.

what a great gift idea for kids birthdays and christmas .
Thanks.
We are living on one income currently but struggling…hubby is pressuring me to go back to work part time.
I keep praying that God will see us thru this tough time.
