Fantastic Friday: Shoes, Shoes, Shoes!

5 February 2010 3 Comments

Want some decorating ideas?  Nifty ways to tie your shoes?  Want to make some adorable baby booties? Want to know how to make your shoes last longer?  Have an aspiring dancer (or a kids who likes to make noise)?  Maybe some of these ideas will inspire you!

We are expecting another bundle of joy in our home!  Due sometime in the summer, and I love these little baby booties that NaughtySectretary made!  They inspired me and I did a bit more digging around on the world-wide web and discovered this free pattern.  You can make your own baby booties!  I wonder if one can adapt the pattern to make moccasins or slippers for preschoolers?  If anyone tries, let us know!   And if you are interested in buying some, here is a great site!

At Cut Out and Keep they used modpodge to convert old shoes into a comic strip!  Perfect gift idea for a tween!  Martha Stewart has painting ideas for ways to use paint to spruce up old shoes!  Let your preschooler go “Jackson Pollack” to create their own unique shoes!

Kate, used lots and lots of red sequins to make her own “Ruby slippers”.  To make them even more fun, tie a washer to the bottom of them with some elastic and transform your shoes into the perfect tap dancing rukus!

Many thanks to Bobsmade and Funky shapes for contributing photos!

Thanks for the shout out! I love the little booties I made for Tallulah, though I must admit she has never worn them. My mom uses a free pattern she found on the net and makes outfits for her with matching shoes all the time. Wish I had matching shoes for all my outfits. Super fun shoe roundup!
