I don’t know about you, but my storage areas were seriously lacking in organization or neatness in this house. Binders are a great way to organize and showcase what your children are learning and doing.  The binder method that is used in The Well Trained Mind is something that I have always thought was a great idea…. but for me, it lacked the usefulness of a portfolio when looking back on the year.

Hot Water
Vinegar

And containers (spray bottles, old laundry detergent tubs, etc.)

This tip comes from Esther and it has helped revolutionize my not-so-clean, but hygenic and fun house.  She said to set aside 15 minuets each morning and afternoon to do a chore.  Put all your unusal chores into a jar and pull one out.  That is the one you get to work on for 15 minuets and if you finish it before the 15 minuets are over you pick another one.   I am amazed at how much I am able to accomplish in a mere 15m.

Cloth diapers are bulky and hard to store in an organized, neat fashion. I absolutely love the tip from Lauren in Maine. She rolls her diapers and stuffs them into an over-the-door shoe organizer. Her wet sack hangs from the door knob and viola, a tidy cloth diapering system!
