Themes for learning
I noticed that as a parent it is so easy to do a chore alone, rather than ask my kids to help (and slow me down). This next year, I want to try spend at least an hour or two of each day playing with purpose with my kids. I want to intentionally spend that hour enriching their lives, rather than relying on the “Dora” standby. To that end, I’ve come up with a list of themes. Each week or so we will “study” a theme and do an activity a day (or three) that are “play” but also a way for the kids to experience and learn about their world and for me to learn more about my kids. I hope these activities can liven up your day with your youngsters!

This is a really neat idea. I don’t have preschoolers, but I do have an 18 year old with Downs. I think he would benefit from some of these ideas. Thanks for sharing.
